Advisor (Energy, Environmental Engineering, and Sustainable Development)

Dr. Vikram Pattarkine has over three decades of experience as a Board- and C-level executive and entrepreneur. He has a passion for identifying, developing, and implementing innovative environmental stewardship strategies and solutions. He has led, managed, and participated in several international projects related to renewable energy, waste-to-energy, environmental and social impact assessment and management plans, climate change, and industrial, hazardous, and medical waste management. He is a wastewater process specialist with experience in process engineering design and troubleshooting, nutrient recovery and removal, energy management and recovery, and energy-efficient aeration systems.

In the recent years, Dr. Vikram has served as the founding CTO of a renewable energy start-up, for which he built and guided its technical team, managed its technology development, and supervised process design. He also served as a Senior Vice President of a Pennsylvania-based consulting engineering firm providing technical leadership to its wastewater treatment and waste management consulting practice. During the 1990s, he built and led the Environment and Natural Resources Management (ENRM) practice of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an Indian multinational consulting firm.

During his international professional career, Dr. Vikram managed and participated in several projects funded by multilateral donor agencies including the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, OECF (Japan), and GTZ (Germany); carried out and reviewed environmental assessments of projects in several sectors including energy, transport, water, industry, infrastructure, tourism, and urban development; interacted with Asia-Pacific region government agencies and other organizations including International Finance Corporation, UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, South Pacific Regional Environment Program, South Asia Co-operative Environment Program, US Trade and Development Agency, and US-Asia Environmental Partnership.
